I'd rather crap broken glass than watch this 'debate.' Debates are only useful if you have at least two rational actors. The best thing President Klan Robe would be able to do is Gish Gallop. That's at A+ level.

So does Biden "win" if he puts three sentences together?

Also, which of these guys can do more pushups?

I try to find humor in our political landscape as best I can. But to be honest the absurdity of the moment we’re in is far too great for satire to be an effective coping mechanism. It’s inadequate as a cathartic release valve at this point.

I mean, on the one hand we’ve got the mainstream media acting like they’re performing some kind of heroic, Herculean effort to hold Biden accountable for his age. “If he’s not fit for office voters have a right to know!”

Then on the other hand these same mainstream ‘journalists’ are asking if it’s even fair to call Trump a convicted felon. Should Joe Biden and the Democrats not even bring it up? Should they just talk strictly policy?

We are a crass parody of ourselves. Well said.

"Why is a convicted felon who plotted a coup even allowed in the same room with the president?"

That is so completely spot-on! This guy couldn't get the lowest level of security clearance. He would never pass the security screening to board a Greyhound bus. He wouldn't pass the background check to hold any job...

And something close to half the country thinks he'd be a good choice for president...

Not offering a semblance of good governance or quality policy has consequences…..

Yeah, that's why we voted him out the last time.

If the electorate held office holders accountable to their Oath, you could have the opportunity to vote FOR something.

Spending any time on what the opposition says or does is a sure sign that the party you support can’t run on its own merits.

God I hate ‘Murikkka.

What are you referencing? Neither partner in this global crime syndicate is a legitimate representative of WtP.

This is the tribal blind allegiance policy in your bullshit that assured us to this third World unlivable society of dunces.

You seem to have a lot of time on your hands.

I don't have a "guy". I have an expectation that the president won't be a rapist, a racist, or an idiot. Or blatantly violate their oath.

Not happy with my choices, but I do know which one tried to overthrow an election.

And as to your "blind allegiance" dig, I was generally a Republican until they started nominating racist rapists.

I do have the luxury of time, in summer and winter, at least. I put in 90-110 hour weeks during spring and fall. Of what relevance is that to our discussion?

Concerning the candidate you support, you might raise the bar. Why not have a broker to convention and put a legitimate ticket on the ballot? Our last chance.

Again, voting against someone or some thing should be beneath us all.

What is a consequence of not holding the party we support accountable for the government, it’s a race to the bottom.

We’ve repeated the same Ol’ same Ol’

#VoteBlue #VoteHimOut impotence for 10 cycles now. Obviously, not a factor your focus on the opposition is distracting you from the mission of holding all office holders accountable in between elections.

What makes the Dem constituency so dense when it comes to nominations? I just don’t get it. It’s the only party with a few legitimate members and candidates. The DNC and its benefactors make it a mission to keep them from any leadership, high office position.

I feel fortunate that being a Brit living in the uk I’ll be asleep and I will be able to pick and choose what I read/listen to about this. Very much hoping that Biden will wipe the floor with him but Trump should not be underestimated.

I plan on watching the MST3k live stream during the debate, but I will read the Wonkette live blog. These debates aren't really debates, they are more like town halls, with more than one candidate.

I have no morbid curiosity to see this. I know people are saying that it won’t change anyone’s mind. However let’s remember that after that stunning STOU address, the sycophants on Trump’s team were mighty scared. Trump’s stories haven’t gotten more on policy but yet more crazy. The media is finally albeit too slowly calling out his bat shit shenanigans.

I’m just hoping that this is Orange Orca’s “Dead Zone” moment where he does something do reprehensible that the majority of the country goes WTAF?!!!

Hey, a girl can dream.

Not only that, but I have occasionally consumed Red Bull. And I have yet to grow wings.

(Please don’t judge re my drinking it. If it’s a dark highway and the only coffee available is a sludge the consistency of bitumen because the one service station in 500 km last made a fresh pot in the palaeolithic, yeah okay I’ll try it. And in case anyone reading doesn’t know and is wondering, it tastes like... I dunno what the hell even is that, cough syrup?)

... a little more seriously:

‘Why is a convicted felon who plotted a coup even allowed in the same room with the president?’

Yep.

The service stations along I-77, I-26, I-81 and I-75 have good coffee, at least the ones that I have stopped at, on the way to visit my daughters, or my way home from visits. Rest areas in NC and WV also have decent coffee. I've never tried Red Bull, but if that is all I could get on a long road trip, I'll take it.

This weekend I’m knocking doors on identified undecided voters. Among other things, I’ll ask if they watched the debate. Regardless of their answer, I’ll then say “Trump said ….. Do you agree or disagree?” And “Biden said …. Do you agree or disagree?” Some Republicans I know, and probably most undecideds, don’t know anything about either man’s policies and the debate may inform them, during or after. One can’t believe that reopening Hillary’s emails question helped Trump win and not think getting the word out about Trump’s plans won’t make any difference.
