Ruben Gallego voted to prohibit the State Department from citing statistics obtained from Gaza health officials. The WHO and the UN have consistently verified these totals, which are most likely a gross undercount.

This is where I agree with the Lincoln Project types who say that Democrats need to start acting more like Republicans if they want to keep the Orange Menace in check.

Act like Mitch McConnell in 2009 and obstruct that dumbass on everything. Don't provide cover for him or his stooges in the House and Senate. Drag his Cabinet nominees through the mud (they're all shitty people anyway so that's not hard.) Troll them in committees the way Jasmine Crockett trolled Empty G when she lobbed that cheap insult about Crockett's appearance. Fuck their shit up. It's not like any work is going to get done anyway.

When you don't have the power to actually get anything done--and right now Democrats don't--you need to spend your time focusing on communication and party rebuilding. Get engaged with the voters, hone your message, and hammer it away--Republicans are giving them plenty of ammo already with these ridiculous nominations. Dems should be on full blast about how incompetent and corrupt and just plain nuts these picks are, and feed the media (which thrives on bells and whistles--give it to them) with constant dirt.

Ditch any talk of bipartisan cooperation, use every tool available to obstruct and dont' for a minute sit back and assume people "get the message". They clearly didn't get it last time, so you'd better repeat it and hone it and improve it.

Topic adjacent: I've turned on the MST3k livestream, just in time for "Hobgoblins." In this movie, the hobgoblins are evil creatures who kill their victims, but at least the hobgoblins give their victims their fondest desire before killing them. repubs want to torture us before we all die. I'll take the Hobgoblins over the repubs any day.

I’m torn between wanting everything to go belly up so idiots can see what they voted for and wanting a few good things to come out of this debacle. I suppose if I have to choose, it’s the former because I don’t want Trump to ever look good (dear god, does he ever?) because it’s not in our best interests. We’ve all seen how people vote on vibes so keep the good vibrations for whatever community or sane bubble you live in or can find and let the rest burn

I can’t disagree with any of this. I guess the “good” will have to come from times Trump is thwarted.

don't be...simply because you have no SAY in the matter...Its out of your control. you can only play the cards you're dealt..It is what it is...It's time to make lemons into lemonade.

going belly up WILL rudely wake up a LOT of disengaged self-absorbed apathetic Americans and in VERY short order...They are like a bunch of BAD dogs that need their faces pushed into their own shit when they take a dump on the couch. Over and over again...for 4 years.

MOST of us can be TOLD not to touch the hot stove. Some people need to LEAN into the HURT before they can learn, because they are STUPID...

I am STILL convinced that America has a disproportionate percentage of fucking stupid people compared with the rest of the world

Bravo, Stephen! I am sick and tired of bipartisanship being held up as a moral and ethical standard, especially since only Dems are held to that standard. Dems, fight! Ditch bipartisanship until the repubs negotiate in good faith. Oh, and Dems, don't count on the MSM telling the truth about anything, because, with a few exceptions, they have joined the dark side,

Yeah, super frustrating. We are witnessing the end of the Republic. Not sure if that means I want to get in the mud hole to wrestle the pig, though, when the pig is just destined for the slaughterhouse. I'm engaging in mutual aid and throwing myself into work. I've got 30 years left on this rock, tops, if my parents' age upon dying is any indication. I'm going to help people the best I can in my community but I have no faith left in the Democrats. They are corrupt and spineless. Build your community as much as you can- we're on our own.

I'm more convinced than ever that Ds have no interest in playing actual politics.

On 3 issues that are HUGE f o r me, Harris/walz offered nothing. Meaningful immigration reform? Nope, ready to sign off on the "border security" bill, which is a human rights nightmare. Not a peep on universal health care & crickets on Gaza.

Yes, I am WELL aware that dear leader is 1000 times worse on everything, but wouldn't it be nice if Ds have us something to vote for, vs "we're not nearly as bad."

As they say, in Europe governments fear their citizens, while in the U.S. citizens fear their govt.

I may have 15 years left (based upon Mama's age of death), or 25 years (based upon Daddy's current age). Maybe even 38 years (based up my Great Aunt Florence's death at age 102). Your advice is sound. Today I gave blood, and got my eyes examined and order new glasses, based upon my new prescription. I'll be chauffeuring Daddy around this afternoon, as he's given up driving. There is so much that I have to do, and can do, it's a blessing with all the crap going on in the world.

As for Dems, the fighting ones, like FDR, Truman, JFK, and LBJ, are dead. Sigh.

Always count your blessings. I keep in mind that having a safe place to sleep, clean water to drink, and electricity to power a fridge so my food doesn't spoil makes me truly wealthy in this world. May all your days be spent feeling that we can help others, giving rides or singing songs. Never forget the good.

I’m just going to say this about Bernie: he ain’t no fool. He knows damn well that nobody ever wants to audit the Pentagon, because Securriiitttyyy and defennnssseeee and wahwahwah we caaaaannnntttttt. So what does he suggest? Audit the fucking Pentagon. Make it stick. And if he (cannily, IMO) acts like it was Elno’s idea? Blame Elno for coming up with it if you hate it.

In true improv fashion, "YES", audit the Pentagon "AND" don't phrase it in a way that starts by giving Elno flowers. That's the real stripe on this skunk we're all handling. Play ball, but play to win.

I'm pretty sure this is exactly what this article is about, not giving an inch. Bernie is my senator and we have a rich history of communication between us, for people that never met. I agree with him on most things, as a super Lefty. But let's not forget the guy had Gabbard as a fellow at the Sanders Institute for years. Everyone is wrong sometimes, and that was a doozy. I believe his giving props to Elon is the wrong choice.

Democrats must understand that RepubliKKKans have no shame, and no hesitation to ignore laws and norms to get their way. Democrats are going to continue losing until they figure out that taking the high road, and bipartisanship are losing tactics. When your opponent fights dirty, the only way to respond is by also fighting dirty. Then brag about fighting dirty.
