𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝟭𝟴, 𝟭𝟳𝟳𝟱 - The leading citizens of the port of Darien (est. 1736), in the British colony of Georgia, published the 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, a pivotal pre-Revolutionary document. Balancing “Loyalty and Liberty”, the document was a last-ditch effort to avoid open rebellion against the British Crown. While declaring loyalty to the Crown, it asserts American rights against the ongoing abuses of an oppressive Parliament and denounced tyrannical taxes, viewing them as violations of citizens’ liberty. Three months later, on the morning of April 19, patriot militias in Massachusetts engaged British troops in the Battles of Lexington and Concord. The British forces withdrew to Boston under heavy fire, after incurring heavy losses. The American Revolution had begun.
I watched Adam West's "Batman" in glorious black and white 60 years ago! Why? Because we only had one TV, and it was black and white.
