Just remember, only Democrats have any accountability for public or private behavior and everything will make sense. And once he sheds his mortal coil, the unreconstructed Republican Party there will make sure Gov. Beshear can't appoint a Democrat anyway.
Remember, because of both Murc's Law and the fact that the Republicans serve those who have always had rights in America—those who America was originally made to benefit—any tactic is on the table, any tactic is acceptable.

Why on earth would I try to do that? I don't feel sorry for him either. Besides, if this happened to another Republican senator, he would do the same thing to them.
At this point wheeling him out constitutes elder abuse. And yeah. I didn’t show up for my job then I’d be fired for sure. And what about the other guy who no one heard from forever but somehow managed to do a lot of day trading? It’s all crooked as hell. At least Feinstein didn’t cast votes or have someone tell them what she really meant to say. That should invalidate his vote period.
It is long past time for a change with mandatory retirement for congress and term limits for Supreme Court justices.
Anyone around Mitch McConnell with any sense of decency would never put him on public display, but that statement is its own proof. There is no one around McConnell with any sense of decency. Clearly McConnell can't feed himself his own pudding cup, and I shudder for whomever has to change his diaper every day. This spectacle is elder abuse!

I just looked it up and there are 33 senators over 70 right now. A third of the people governing our lives should be hanging out with their grandchildren. I've heard of making SCOTUS retire at a certain age and have an advisory role instead. Maybe we could do something like that. But ultimately the voters know what they are voting for. I sure as hell did not vote for Feinstein in her last election but enough people did to keep her staff in Louboutins.
I am Angus King's constituent. While it's true he is an elderly man, he is cognitively intact and capable of making decisions. That appears to be true of Chuck Grassley as well, who is a decade-ish older than King and McConnell. King's problem (and the biggest problem I have with his generation of policy makers) is that his frame of political reference has not been updated since the Reagan administration, and his misreads of the moment since his re election are legion. I worry about that as much as I do any physical infirmity.
In terms of McConnell, I suspect his actual days left above ground are numbered, and I am dreading the ballwashing and fake mourning that will inevitably happen from both sides and the media when he finally experiences the sweet release of death. We are a cynical country.
