I'm telling you - be ready - everything bad is going to go on you my democrat friends, everything good is going to go on DJT.
There's only one way to kill a lie, and that's to kill the liar.
But I understand, my democratic friends are kind, would never harm the hair on the back of a fly, they're so pure and understanding. My democratic friends...
Good piece. And Dinkins, btw, was at least as morally intact and grown-up minded as a New York City mayor can hope to be. (Historically, the bar is quite low.) Eric Adams does seem to be in another universe.
For a brief second, I thought you said Andrew Giulani... not Andrew Cuomo and was like 'wait... what?" but then took another slurp of coffee and re-read the sentence.
I don't know what it is with NYC--maybe in part because their authority to fix their problems is limited by how so much is determined by Albany (notice the congestion charge depended on Hochul's decision, not Adams), maybe in part because their biggest problem (not enough housing) is undermined by bad incentives (those who own property there do not want more housing, as it'll reduce the price for what they own)--but it just seems they're doomed to have lousy or at best ineffectual mayors. At this point Adams may get replaced by a slime mold.
I don't think the voters are going to care about Cuomo being a harasser--if they think he can make their lives better, they'll go with that. Character just doesn't matter in the face of politics.
Case in point--imagine Cuomo and Andrew Giuliani (the two Andrews!) each get the nominations for NYC mayor. Cuomo promises a lot of liberal policy, Giuliani promises a lot of conservative policy. How many liberals are going to say "but Cuomo was a sexual harasser, at least Giuliani doesn't seem to have done that in his personal life, so I'll vote for Giuliani"?
Only in politics can a clearly arrogant, power hungry, and inauthentic and non-compassionate person vie for a prominent position. How is it that voters can be so deluded to grasp at a straw as weak as Adams or Trump or Cuomo?
Never mind. It's the same people who buy a shitty used car from a sleazy salesman, or believe the seller of a timeshare condo unit when he (almost always a he) says, "It's an investment!".
"Crawling Cuomo Slime" sounds like a really bad movie, but a good one for the gang at MST3k to riff. It does seem that we are either trapped in "The Twilight Zone" or a bad movie riffed by MST3k. Sigh.
“you’d think that Democratic primary voters would also remember that Cuomo’s a crawling piece of slime.“
The voting public’s collective attention-span is very short. The zone has now been so completely flooded with sh*t that we can’t keep up with it anymore.

Andrew Cuomo, LOL
Well hell might as well see Anthony Weiner run again.
Nothing Matters/This is hell 2026!
I have actually read somewhere recently that Anthony Weiner is trying to rise again, as it were.
Fuck it, why not? Character doesn't matter!

'Another Andrew' indeed.
I thought they were the same person 😛

Perverse incentives do seem to underlie a lot of NYC policy!
Throw in a lack of accountability and you have corruption soup!

If he were white, he could switch parties and have a reasonable chance in the primary. Republicans do love defiant and unrepentant white criminals so.
If he switched parties he'd do much better, Republicans would love a black candidate so they can prove they're not racist by voting for him.

piss off, spambot.
Cuomo should be at negative 6%.
The only thing he’s got going for him is name recognition.
