Gina Hinojosa would be great for Texas of course, but realistically I would be more surprised to see her actually prevail than I would Talarico. Fingers crossed.
Yes, they are, but Talarico is emerging in no small part because Ken Paxton is *uniquely* a horrible candidate, in the Roy Moore mold. John Cornyn could likely have run this race on autopilot and won, which tells me the race is not necessarily as much a referendum on Trump as it is Paxton. Abbott has held the job for a few years now, and while left wingers hate his job performance, and he's not all that popular across the board, that might not be enough to defeat him in absence of other factors.
I love a pro choice candidate. Who knows, maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised, which would make for a nice change of pace.

It would be a slight surprise, but not completely out of left field. Trump and MAGA really are that horrible.
