Now it's time for the general, so hopefully people there have made sure they're mobilized. I am concerned about polling misses around this, so I want to make sure that people understand it's not all in the bag. Stevens made the right statements IMO in her concession so I want to make sure people rally behind El-Sayed and get us on the way to a *semblance* of a check on Maladministration 2.0 and America's Pilonidal Cyst.
Glad that Al-Sayed won. Stevens couldn’t even answer man on the street questions like when she was greeting a woman holding her baby and was trying to get her vote. When the woman started asking intelligent questions about her policies and he acceptance of AIPAC money she completely avoided answering the question. That was not a candidate prepared for working in the big house for sure.
I’m not so much an AES supporter as a, “What in the everloving fuck were the establishment thinking by pushing Stevens when McMorrow could’ve used the help and been a perfectly acceptable avatar of moderation?”.
Addendum: The establishment’s utter delusion of late that they can have their cakes and eat them too, has just been astounding in this regard.
I haven't followed all the gyrations of this race, but it tracks pretty closely with other results all primary season long. Joe Biden's attempt to pivot to "normalcy" probably doomed him more than inflation did. Democrats are sick of the mealy-mouthed Stevenses of the world, who think we just need some tweaking around the edges and all will be well again. Who are more afraid of offending people who will likely never vote for them than actually fighting for something. It's not a policy debate on the Democratic side now, it's who best communicates the urgency of the moment and is not afraid of an all out brawl for power (I don't think it hurts that El Sayed looks like a tight end either, lol.)
I tend to think voters aren’t nearly as impressed with those types of credentials as they once were, considering the place those credential holders have landed us.
The leadership in the Democratic Party are just a blob of "We aren't them!" Power always corrupts, and the old guard seems to have stayed too long at yhe dance. They fear change (most people do) and so they are now selling their very own Make America Great Again But More Like Kennedy Are Any Of You Old Enough To Remember It Was Pretty Good If You Were A White Dude That Is Also Obama Now Everyone Liked Him Right Everyone hats but can't quite get the design right so it will fit on a blue hat.
