There is actually something that the President can do about this that would cost him nothing and be all upside. "My Gift To Trump": https://tinyurl.com/mut4ujzr
A great albeit grim analysis. Also a wee typo about Johnson making up staff. Unless he does that too. “My minions all agree that he never tells a lie…”
Evil may earn our hatred but weakness in the face of evil earns our contempt. Instead of pleading to Republicans’ better angels, which always results in Republicans (a) mocking you because they know you won’t do shit about it, (b) pretending they don’t know anything about the incident as they wait fir the next news cycle, or (c) expressing concern and doing nothing.
How about this instead: “Republicans are deep into dictator shit right now, because their demented freak president wants to be Stalin, and that laminated face DHS dogkiller is arresting Senators like it’s East Germany. So we are doing a permanent round the clock filibuster, blocking everything all the way down to resolutions to name post offices, and calling for mass civil disobedience at every state Capitol until this shit is over. We’re blocking roads, post offices, everything—they’ll have to arrest everyone and so be it.”
Thanks Stephen. I think your take is pretty much spot-on. Much as I love Tim Walz, his recent comment (pertaining to the Minnesota assassinations) that violence is not the way we resolve differences in America made me go, "Um, but isn't it?!" Governmentally, anyway. Invade. Bully. Occupy. Bust heads. Never tolerate a separate mind.
Any Republican who actually loves America or the Constitution or their faith has already left and was voting for Harris.
The rest are unreconstructed, white supremacist, Confederate bigots.
That Democratic politicians cannot seem to grasp reality does not fill me with confidence that they will do the right things for America if they regain power.
I do wish that Chris Cilliza would just stop putting his thoughts into public view. Make his family suffer but don't let the dumbness out into the wild. Too much to ask?
Performance art - like Noem's - is bad...for Democrats. Incessant lying - like every member of the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress - is bad...if done by Democrats. Murc's Law or whatever we call it is powerful.
Well you have to beg them because otherwise the air is completely filled with false equivalence. Murc's Law dictates it. Second we all know that violence is always in the toolbox because the modern Republican party represents the unreconstructed, which gives them wide deference in the legal and political system. And this is in fact one of the ways that they can elide responsibility for the stochastic terrorists that their hatred will spin up.
Trump showed Republicans they can be the worst (or best, in their depraved minds) versions of themselves, and get away with it. They will only continue to embrace him.

I love that we’re still not calling the shooter a terrorist. Also, Democrats seem committed to never win elections again.
You are right.
They enjoy it.
ACT UP, STAND UP!!
I challenge EVERY Senator to act up and get arrested to support eradicating this madness.
“This calls for immediate discussion!” -Reg, Leader, Peoples Front of Judea (or was it the Judean People’s Front? Shit)

“On the one hand, Bull Connor was wrong to turn fire hoses on children. On the other hand, those children were trying to make a scene.”
I guess Cillizza has no one in his life to say “yeah maybe don’t post that, it’s just too stupid.”
And Fetterman is proof that seven feet of dogshit can get elected Senator.
They’re both vile.
I think you meant #Tuberville … ?

Yes, my friend, it's regrettable how true that is.

Let’s not forget the brutal attack on PA Gov. Josh Shapiro and his household at the beginning of Passover this spring.
