As we begin Black History Month, the shortest of all months, I ruefully think of all the times we'll see the One Truncated MLK Quote, divorced of context.

Also a book I had as a child and I think many children should have to this day:

Eyes on the Prize. https://search.worldcat.org/title/857233580

This is a joke I heard. Happy Black History Month, or as the Republicans call it... February. 🙄

"You should see what we get up to in March!"

Do tell!!!

This year February has twenty-nine days, so will Florida ban it for making the other months feel uncomfortable?

Not Black, but boo is. Can confirm she does shit in March. April too!

Will try reading some of these.

Thanks for the reminder! I’ve seen all the other Genius series and expect this to be equally as good.

Interesting that (NGTV? NGC? whatevs) is doing that. That said, the two Black figures I wish would get more attention are Dee Farmer and Charles Hamilton Houston. The first was a felon and the second the mentor to Thurgood Marshall, but both have a lot to teach us. I would seriously doubt that Farmer would get such a documentary, but CHH was an obvious genius. I'm going to have to check the series history to see if there's one about him.

Oh, and I'll take you up on your invite to chat about this ep once I've seen it.
