We need a Thomas Paine who can speak to people at a 6th grade level. We need a Patrick Henry who can rouse a crowd to action. We need a Martin Luther King Jr who can speak about the morality and ethics and appeal to the Biblical verses that back our positions.
We need passion. We need reason. We need some leaders to rouse Americans to stand up and resist, to retake patriotism, to make Americans understand what's happening.
Thanks for this - it does explain a lot, but doesn't excuse Dems abandoning their base and abandoning vulnerable people in order to appease fascists. While the Senate, the electoral vote, and even the House is tilted towards the repubs, Dem policies are popular, they work for most Americans, and there is no need to lie about them to defend them. repub policies are the total opposite, and to defend them, they have to lie. Sadly, too many believe repub lies, and too many Dems fail to defend their policies. Until they start vigorously defend their policies, we will never know, but my take is that Dems would do well in elections when the defend their policies. Another thing Dems need to do - stop accepting the right wing framing on every issue. Sure, the MSM does it, but Dems can punch back with the truth, and call out the media personalities* who parrot right wing talking points.
*I refuse to call most in the MSM journalists or reporters, because they are neither.
