Taylor Swift is pure class.

The "Right" are not even close to a majority in this country, and the only reasons they have any power at all, frankly, is that 1) not enough liberals and moderates exercise their power at the ballot box and 2) the Republican Party has consistently fought to prevent those of their opponents who do vote from doing so. At every turn, Republicans get what they want through voter suppression, subterfuge and outright lies, not because they represent the majority of Americans.

She’s a boss, works her ass off and doesn’t need permission. Terrifying to patriarchy right?

Some people forget that she comes from a middle class background.

And the chuds who know hate that. It means they have no power over her as she is self-made.

I hope she continues dumping shade on this unreconstructed party.

I went to the local Walmart for the first time the other day (just moved to a new town, and they had something I needed fast), and really got a kick out of the fact that on the first aisle I walked down when I came in the main entrance, there was a huge display of Taylor Swift books that took up the middle of the aisle (in big letters it said "We Love Taylor!"). First thing anyone walking in the store would see, too.

The Rs and their sycophants already lost this battle. Let them try to dump on her, she's conquered Walmart and so most of lower-to-middle income America.

You have to give Dave Rubin a pass. He's a conservative gay man. Maybe being taken by a gang of men is his own personal fantasy.

Again, if Trump didn't AI a fake Taylor Swift endorsement none of this would've happened. It's another self-own. These people are so tiresome.

Swift is an American citizen sharing her views on social media the way the rest of us do. I also encourage people to vote. My mom spent time telling her gay grandson/drag performer to vote.

We all try to influence the people who know us or follow us on social media. It’s just that most of us don’t have 246 million followers.

The shut up and sing crowd should just shut up

I think MAGA has a love, jealousy and envy* problem. They loved Taylor Swift, thought she was theirs and theirs alone and when it turned out not so much, they went all green eyed monster.

*I actually took a psych course called Love, Jealousy and Envy 😉

I love Tay Tay. But does anyone else see that great pic of her with her cat and think "OMG white cat hair all OVER that black turtle neck!" Or is it just me?

That Walz/Maddow clip left me in tears. It was a particularly exciting clip because you could see both the politician and the man sizing up the impact of what he was about to hear. I've been saying for months that Taylor Swift could save her country with one sentence; it was actually several paragraphs, but now it may be done. (Remember, folks, there's a difference between complacency and having a fighting spirit: "With all due respect, General Patton, aren't you worried about your complacency that you can defeat the Germans? Is pissing in the Rhine a bit...complacent?") Maybe this will end like the fairy tales end: the beautiful princess defeats the hideous smelly old ogre, the end. PS: the National Council of Cats objects strongly to the phrase "owns a cat."

No one of us can save the country, but her reach is both far and wide. She has used it so we might all save our country, together.

Cats are like old times deities who sometimes adore us and sometimes try to kill us, and all we can do is place the offerings to their greatness on a tray, or dangle offerings from a feathery toy.

I believe Taylor Swift’s strong influence over her fans will definitely accrue to the Harris-Walz ticket’s benefit, but it’s really not her responsibility to “save the country.”

Gotta disagree. It's all of our responsibility, to do whatever is within our means. More powerful people have greater means. We don't want to wake up one day when we've lost it all and think "well, I could have done more, but this is really on others".

Every vote that can be turned, every obstacle we can put in place of fascism, this is the moment to take action. I'm glad so many are stepping up, and hope it builds pressure for more to do so.

Correct, it’s the collective responsibility of the nation’s voters. As I was saying, not Swift’s responsibility.
