It’s a noble quest to idolize the Supreme Court as some deliberative body that answers to a higher moral authority that makes decision solely based on even handed and honest interpretations of the law. If you are writers on The West Wing.
But that only works if both parties agree that there is a higher honorable interpretation of the law to aspire to.
It doesn’t work when one party no longer believes in interpreting the law. They believe in bending it to the whims of a dictator.
I don’t like the “I told you so” memes, either, and I think politicians should show more humility when they lose important elections rather than just blame voters. However, it wasn’t just certain voters who minimized the stakes of the 2016 election. Stein and her supporters openly said there was no difference between the major candidates and that voting for her — who couldn’t win mathematically — was somehow “safe.” That was a political argument that was obviously disastrous
"Republican Sen. Ted Cruz claimed the marriage equality ruling was one of the “darkest periods” for the Supreme Court — deliberately ignoring Dred Scott and Plessy v. Ferguson. "
That's because he thinks Dred Scott and Plessy were GOOD rulings.
2016 was one of the biggest self-owns in American history...followed by, well, 2024...both times the American people felt that the racist carnival barker was the best. And the second time he even added 34-count felon to his repertoire. You already know what kind of person wouldn't be able to get a job after 34 felony counts.
We definitely know because it's that he hates the same minorities they do. That's why they like the jackbooted ICE thugs.
So we need to make sure to survive, because that's how the dream of freedom can last.
After Hillary lost in 2016 the postmortem consensus was that she was a “bad candidate with too much baggage”.
I don’t know what kind of baggage they think is too much but I doubt it comes anywhere close to the “91 indictments, 34 count convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, convicted fraudster, insurrectionists, twice impeached, transactional narcissist, incompetent wannabe dictator, hellbent on revenge, compulsive liar who rambles like an escaped mental patient on meth.”

I don't need an “I told you so” from Hillary Clinton 🙄
Who would you like it ftom?
I don't it from anybody, least of all Hillary Clinton. These “she told us” memes are stupid.
Yeah I figured you didn’t want them from anyone, but you singled her out.
But if they’re “she told us” she isn’t really to blame here, right? It’s whoever is calling her “she?”

Maybe, but Jill Stein voters were never Hillary gets to begin with and still probably prefer Trump to her. So either way, this is meaningless.

Hillary was right about so many things. 🤦🏽♀️💔🕊️

Baggage is only for Democrats (especially when there's foreign intelligence to give that 'baggage' a little goose!)
I try not to let myself dwell on the what ifs, because it makes me want to go postal, but...
What if Gore had won, and we hadn't wasted TRILLIONS of dollars in the middle East and all of those human lives?
What if Clinton had won, and her additions to the Supreme Court leaned toward MORE equal rights for all?
What if Harris had won, and we wouldn't have to be living through this Idiocracy shitshow every single day?
