It really does feel like the court is in full "because we can" mode, rather than using legal principles. It's feeling a lot like game over really, but I'm glad there are SERs and his old crew at Wonkette fighting the good fight.

where it starts breaking down, fortunately, is in enforcement...Ultimately laws have to make sense and be internally cohesive with other laws...Even as a pessimist, I feel that the RW SCOTUS is high on its own supply and will be sideswiped by hubris. moves like this actually UNDERMINE their power...Already, many state supreme courts have ruled COUNTER to SCOTUS rulings and state legislatures have shored up laws to protect people from shitty unconstitutional SCOTUS rulings...When our institutions are tasked with protecting us FROM the highest court in the land, contrary to what one would think, that 'highes"t court's power is diminished..They will be limited in how far they can go simply by a tipping point number of people refusing to acknowledge their legitimacy...

Packing the Courts (plural) needs to be the official Democratic Party platform. Stop weaseling around and hemming and hawing about it. SCOTUS 13 in 24.

But can we do that with a simple majority and the filibuster still in place?
