Good Morning, Mr.Robinson. Thank you for your well written and thought out message today, as usual.

You are so right about it all.

Democrats not only have already taken the Trump Train to Chump Town (love that) but they sent a freaking limo to bring him back.

Do you think this is Democratic Wolf in Sheep's Clothing behavior? And that they have already hatched a secret plan to thwart MAGA? I know,I know, magical thinking.

All my favorite buds on substack and elsewhere are so great at laying out the facts as they are. What of any kind of plan to at least mitigate some damage? Any plan at all?

Talk me down from secession, and civil war. . South Carolina saw the writing on the wall in December 1860. Their very way of life and economy hung in the plans of the Lincoln Administration. Negotiation, not appeasement, was attempted, to be met with deaf ears from DC.

This is almost a mirror image of that Unpleasantness.

Could the west coast states and the Blue East Coast states, and some of the Great Lakes states unite in some way or other with the help of some Outsiders to Politics in partition and resistance to this MAGA Reich that's well on it's way to entrenchment?

I want to see some plans, dammit, or some evidence that the sane, intelligent, good people do have our backs. All I've seen is wait for the mid-terms, yeah, we'll whip their asses then, boy. That's the ticket. SOS.

The political party system is at the root of this fine mess. Nuttin' said in the Constitution about them. Electoral College, yes. There's an amendment for that.

But, first....?

I like how Nancy Mace thinks the guy who eats discarded bear meat and coincidentally is suffering a brain worm is somehow healthier than the licensed doctor.

South Carolina, please come collect your shit, it's running around Washington spouting dumbassery.

Biden's friendly photo with Trump at the White House may well come back to haunt him.

Had Harris won, Biden's legacy would have been seen as a return to normalcy and a bridge past the Trump years, as well as ushering in a new generation of leadership.

Instead, it'll be seen as a temporary road block for the destruction of our nation and system of government, and the last of the myopic idea that we can will the country to normalcy while it is burning down around us.

Resistance is futile, earthlings. Actually, I think aliens attacking would change things a bit. None of those imbeciles would stand a chance. I personally would be happy to take them to Dear Leader and his motley crew of freaks and ghouls.

Back to your regularly scheduled program.

This post is so good. You captured everything perfectly. I now am going to sit in a corner and bang my head against the wall

Thanks! Rest your head, though!

"Peace through liberal submission isn’t a strategy. It’s appeasement." Wait.. wuh? Neville Chamberlain was wrong? What's next? You gonna tell me Reconstruction didn't pan out as intended?! Nice (deeply depressing) work, SER.

I don't know where I am. Rage is still there. Angry, screaming, hateful rage.

There's also depression because I feel resigned to the fact that no one gives a fuck about decency, mercy, kindness, honor, loyalty, compassion, or faithfulness any longer. Feel like we're completely utterly lost as a civilization and it's now a war of all against all forever without end. A dark age seems inevitable.

And we have a choice to either join in with the oppressors and darkness or stand up and be a prophet to the lost sheep of America and be hated, suffer, and probably die with nothing but a faint glimmer of hope that maybe, somehow, it's going to matter.

Word, Old Man. That’s exactly where I am as well.

No to beat the conspiracy drum too loudly, but the Repubs are surrreeee quiet about any trace of election fuckery... kinda like when it's too quiet downstairs for a long time and I sneak down and find the treat jar is knocked over and fat cat has that 'wasn't me!' expression...

Why would they complain? They got what they wanted.

they always complain when they win... loudly. Hardly a peep now... something stinks.

I’m pretty much a person who feels like we should all attempt to work within constraints. However, I’m not in a charitable mood these days and believe that the Dems should gum up the GOP at every turn. Resistance should be the game play this time around.

The national politicians suck. I hope the state democrats like Newsom, Pritzker etc don’t.

Welcome back. Now let’s give Ukraine the ok to bomb the shit out of Russia. You’re welcome

That's another thing that drove me nuts about Biden. The moment that war started, arm Ukraine to the teeth with everything we could give them, and let them do whatever they want to the Russians (needless to say, we wouldn't give them nukes or anything we are treaty bound to not share). His hesitance let the Russians carry this on for years, and now all Putin has to do is wait for Trump to cut Ukraine off and then he will slowly bleed them dry.

If Democrats don't learn to fight, they need to get out of the way and let someone else take over their party.

While the GOP panders to its base and is careful to avoid alienating even their most extreme elements (see McConnell backing away from his condemnation of Trump after Jan 6), Democratic leadership seems to take the party’s base for granted. “Who else are they going to vote for?” seems to be their animating idea. This isn’t leadership. The country now faces the biggest crisis since the Civil War. Where is our leadership???

But they do ask their base for money. I'm getting one or two money beg emails a day from the Harris campaign since they lost. It's ridiculous. Go ask Mark Cuban for money. Or the Cheneys.

Cowering under their seats, as if they were trapped in the House chamber on Jan. 6. The whole Insurrection is now being disappeared down the memory hole. Guess it really was just a peaceful protest by true patriots.

One of many bitter pills to swallow lately is the realization that in the end, Democrats are politicians, just like Republicans. They’re not heroes standing in the wings, waiting for just the right moment to rush in and save us. Schumer is doing his usual quisling routine. Dozens of Dems voted IN FAVOR of passing a bill granting Donald the authority to destroy any NGOs he doesn’t like. After death threats to himself and his family, Jared Moskowitz, formerly known as James Comer’s witty nemesis, had this to say about Matt Gaetz, Donald’s AG choice: “fiercely loyal” and “fiercely competent” … “elections have consequences.” Moskowitz proffered that “Matt was a part of getting me confirmed when he was part of the transition team for Ron DeSantis, to become the emergency management director in Florida.”

And in one of many recent “Welcome to our insect overlords” media overtures, Morning Joe Scarboro and his sycophantic wife Mika Brzezinski met with The Thing at Merdo Lardo this weekend, and reportedly told their audience this morning: “In this meeting, he was upbeat, cheerful and he seemed interested in finding common ground on some of the most divisive issues … For those asking why we would go speak with the president-elect during such fraught times …I guess I would ask back: ‘Why wouldn’t we?'” Well gosh, Mika, you got me. I can’t think of any reason, either.
