I completely forgot Janet Jackson was this young.

I'm really glad to see that despite the slings and arrows she's done the best she could.

Man, Janet in “Love will never do”—I was also obsessed!

Me too - but mostly because of the video.

Naturally. It's a good song too, though!

Loved Janet's songs! We are the same age- so I got to live this in real time!

It's interesting to read this and to understand better about how Janet Jackson was able to take control of her life and not be a stunted, damaged child molester like Michael Jackson.

Happy birthday Miss Jackson. I always liked her. Unfortunately that stunt (you'll never convince me it wasn't) at the 2004 Super Bowl has remained as much her signature moment as any album or single has.

As a Brit - where up until a few years ago one got one’s chips wrapped in yesterday’s boobs I have never understood the fuss over this supposed moment of national sacrilege, certainly not enough to erase two decades of a definitive artist of a generations work.

Well, it didn’t. She had a lot of success after that. But it’s the first thing people think of, really.

It was a stunt, as the network immediately cut to a commercial. It was so sudden and unnatural, and I couldn't understand why. I didn't see the stunt, as it was so quick, and neither did my daughter, who was also watching. Later, we learned what happened, and Miss Jackson was blamed for it. That tracks - blame the woman, especially if she's Black.

It was despicable how Justin Timberlake left her to take all the blame for that one. I've never been able to look at him the same way since.
