It’s admittedly tedious to keep discussing Joe Biden, who’s no longer president, and the 2024 presidential campaign, which ended months ago with no do-overs.
Thanks for the Joy Behar! Personally I'm sure that history will judge Biden very well. He was very effective. That's why I supported him and will speak very highly of him all my life. Recalling his presidency and things that he said literally brings tears to my eyes. Such a competent and caring leader. I'm often troubled that my country produces so many rotten hearted people, but then we also produce Joe Bidens.
I can proudly say I have never read one of those tell all books about a former president. I don't blame anybody for trying earn an honest living. I would just rather read a historians take on the on someone's term.
If she is delusional enough to think Dems weren’t doomed to a worse defeat than the one they got if they’d kept Biden is the nominee, then her political chops are so abysmal she shouldn’t be anywhere near any decisionmaking in the Dem Party ever again. The whole Biden team has a lot to answer for, even though I get where they were coming from—they thought his numbers might improve as the economy did and they could hide his decline. It’s hard when you’re in a bubble to really see just how misguided the bubble is.
And I am generally furious with Democrats for being such a collection of weaklings with such a poor grasp of how regular people think that they literally need constants to explain normal people to them. It’s hard to be anything but disgusted by them. But they’re the only major non-fascist party out there, so much as I wish they’d improve, I’m still supporting them. Jumping ship is the last thing we can do.
I was upset by Democrats pressing Biden into stepping down, but I was old enough to realize I was projecting how I would have felt onto Biden. I still voted for Kamala. I don’t mean to dismiss Jean-Pierre’s actions as being naive: rather that if I, a mere voter, felt indignant on Biden’s behalf, I can see how someone who worked in his White House might feel even more so.
JFK in his inaugural address: "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." He did so himself, not only by being elected to office, but by serving during WWII and fighting fascists. Biden did it when he dropped out, Harris did it when she stepped in, Waltz did it when he joined her ticket, Pelosi, Schumer and others did it when they convinced Biden to drop out, the good people of California are doing it now - facing fascists masquerading as LE. The list can go on and on, but Karine Jean-Pierre isn't on the list, nor anyone in the maladministration. Joe Walsh is on the list, and I wish that others would join him in fighting for the USA. I will do my small part on Saturday by ignoring TACO's stupid and narcissist birthday parade, and joining a virtual "No Kings" event that day.
she’s talking about him, you are talking about her. neither of you are wrong but we are in a post d vs r vs i era. shit went sideways, epic fail for america etc. doesn’t matter. we have fascists running the show now. people have died. will die. what are we doing about that? oh slinging shit at one another. ok cool. let me get my get my ziplock bags ready.
It would be funny if her book outsold Tapper's. Now I will say this: Democrats easily played themselves. The whole thing with polls was also bullshit with leading questions that people were glad to go along with. Because there are standards that only accrue to Democrats. Notice how the "old" issue went away once the pricktator was the only old guy. Notice how, well, the pricktator's brain having completely left the chat, AND the diffusion of responsibility are no problem at all.
And know how I know the polls were based on manufactured bullshit?
There isn't a single anti-Biden tome from an actual administration member on the best seller list. I am not aware of one even on the market, to be honest, but I am sure someone must have one somewhere. If there were that person would be making the media rounds.
The other reason I know this was bullshit is that the book Jake Tapper pinched out sold just 53K copies *despite all the shilling and press coverage.* Everyone knows it is bullshit. Everyone knows that because only Democrats have accountability, if Joe Biden did anything nearly as bad as what the pricktator has he would have been 25th Amendmented.
I will say this till the day I die. If Democrats were so concerned about age, Joe Biden was old in 2020. So that is on them. You had all the fresh faced young ones in the primary. So whatever. It doesn't matter anymore as Democrats do not do policy anymore. We are glad to throw it all away. So I look forward to see which nonminority penis gets the nod in the Democratic primary, as now the only thing I guess people will want is someone making pretty, futile speeches to make them feel good "speaking truth to power" while atrocities ramp up.

I haven’t read this yet. I liked it for the title (I’m sure I’ll like the post itself)

Why all the looking back? Why not use your voice and opportunity and knowledge to bring people back to the only other viable party in this country
I agree with you, but I'm guessing that she had a very inside look at how the sausage gets made on a national scale, and didn't like what she saw.
I’m sure she didn’t like it.
I used to watch Jean-Pierre on MSNBC. Another book about former President Biden I won't be reading. So disappointed with her.
So I will continue wishing President Biden well and keep him and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

woops...
"The other reason I know this was bullshit is that the book Jake Tapper pinched out sold just 53K copies"
WOW!
That low...remarkable
That also reminds me...we haven't had a scandalous tell-all from the Harris/Walz campaign that i have heard of.
Now that I think of it, HAD any Biden admin figure departed on bad terms? I am assuming there was TJ Ducklo if I have the name right?
I would think if things had gone so badly Neera Tanden would have written something. Buttigieg hasn't thrown Biden under the bus.
excellent observation...The lack of tell-alls are conspicuous in their absence...
