MTG does not give off the Aryan super brood sow vibe... those close-together eyes, the terrible skin.

Hate just makes some people physically ugly it seems. Charlie Kirk is another example...from cute-ish kid to ugly, hateful old man. And don't get me started on Jr's squeeze, Kim Gullifoyle who has gone from model- gorgeous to a bad representation of a blow up sex doll.

The Marge/Trump faction wants to burn the government down because they’re not smart enough to know how to do anything else. The Johnson faction wants to at least keep the structure going so they can use it against us after their glorious restoration.

The party of personal responsibility loves to take zero responsibility for being such fuckups. I laugh that Kirk thinks Dems caused the GOP to be self immolating as if we cast a spell or have a voodoo doll hidden somewhere with pins in it.

“It’s true that the bill only had support from about half the Republican conference, and that violates the child molester speaker’s rule about only bringing a bill to the floor if it has support from a majority of the Republican majority.”

I always appreciate your accurate framing of history, Mr. Robinson.

Phathetic indeed!

I love the wailing and gnashing of teeth (and rending of garments). I mean really, they have plenty of structural advantage even with small majorities; the slaveholders' constitution ensures it.

Nevertheless given what Kirk says, they all know that Murc's Law can carry the day as the consequences of whatever they fuck up will always fall on Democrats. So Kirk ought to be satisfied with that, there's still far too many Republicans in office and that means more chaos and destruction.

Let's reduce those numbers this year and defeat them where we can. I'm off to early vote now for Biden/Harris!

"... and any strong speaker of the House would expel a member for leaving our razor-thin majority in such a delicate, delicate state.”

A delicate flower. That's what I think of when I think of Marjorie Taylor Greene.

“I suppose it is a progressive preference that government exists and actually functions, while the far-right nihilist caucus would see it all burn down.” Seems like this is the case. The GOP would prefer fiefdoms run by rich white dudes.

“It’s unclear what Greene means when she says she “paid her dues.” She’s only been in Congress since 2021, and she attempted a coup on her fourth day.” - I think that last bit is in the House Republican bylaws now and she’s nothing if not a good little soldier.

It’s amusing that Charlie Kirk thinks Democrats are the ones forcing Republicans to, well, be modern-day Republicans. They are SO crafty and thorough, in fact, that they directed President Obama and Seth Meyers to make fun of the former guy at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner, setting the stage for a rage spittle flecked revenge run for the presidency in 2016 that gave raise to MAGA and the current apocalyptic doomscape we find ourselves in now. Step One: Ridicule. Step Two: Unfit Moron in the White House. Step Three: ??? Uh, profit?

No idea. These MAGA morons are patently absurd.

I remind my liberal friends that whatever revulsion you feel about Greene and her ilk, imagine what it must be like to be a Republican colleague. Sure, Jeffries and Pelosi can look the other way when they pass Greene in the halls, but her fellow Republicans have to attend caucus meetings with her, have to pretend to respect her as she's a major party fundraiser (and they all have some segment of their electorate in the "fully batshit" category that they don't want to offend). You may think "well, they're Republicans so maybe they don't mind Greene as much" but these people do have eyes and ears.

And Republican pols going back to 2016 likely told themselves that suffering humiliation for Trump--and supporting Trump requires constant tests of humiliation--would be temporary. He'd definitely lose to Hillary, and this will be over! He'll definitely pivot to normal once he's POTUS! Once he loses in 2020, he'll go away! DeSantis will beat him, and we can put him behind us! But it's becoming clear to more of them that this guy could live as long as his father (into his 90s!) and will never go away, and staying elected means constant, constant humiliation that just isn't worth it for a job that pays less than they could make in the private sector. I think we're going to see a lot of them tested here as the campaign season heats up.
