Apparently these indictments have led to further investigation into Nadine Menendez hitting and killing a pedestrian with her car back in 2018. The whole thing seemed to have been swept aside, thanks to a chummy relationship with NJ cops. She showed no remorse, or concern for the victim and his family, but whined about her loss of a car. Luckily for her, the Senator agreed to arrange to have a criminal investigation into an "associate" dropped, in exchange for a $60k Mercedes to replace Nadine's car.
I'm in NJ and I don't want to trade corruption for nepotism. I changed my voter registration from Independent to Democrat, so as to be able to vote for Kim in the primary.
I could see him doing something to screw Dems because that's what ALWAYS happens. I think he's potentially pissy enough to do a Sinema.
I am actually worried about the difference there with Kim and Murphy, with Murphy having the advantage of Black support. (So the "vote like Black women" maxim is going to have a big test).
I'm not from New Jersey. At a glance I liked Kim....but on the ground what are Black people seeing in Murphy?
Sleaze bag extraordinaire Menendez may have gotten off on his last crime spree, but I’ll be amazed if he does this time. P01135809 may be Teflon coated (which I think will start to peel as soon as one of his trial’s starts), but a coat made of gold bars is malleable and will offer little protection.
Dems have their own mini-Trump, but the difference is that Dems don't mind near as much shunning him. Although it is weird that he's still on the Foreign Relations Committee. He needs to be removed ASAP! They can keep him in the Senate if they really want to, but he needs to be as far away from actual power as possible.
I am assuming the reason he's still on the committee is the same problem with Feinstein towards the end; that the majority is so narrow they wouldn't be able to name a new member or something.
I've heard that some candidates for office do actually use campaign contributions to pay their legal bills. Cant think of the name, hmmm who could it be.

PS Whose talking to Chris Christie? What's his plans...?...
Geeez Menendez.

Maddening. We clearly need better alternatives for defanging and ousting criminals who are "serving" in our government.

We can just start calling him Joe, as in Lieberman. Come on, New Jersey, don't let me down.
