What a poignant tribute to Sir Stewart. I never watched any of his movies nor Star Trek but I remember his hilarious exchange on Graham Norton on being circumcised or not. Look it up. The link was too long when I tried to post here.

Godspeed Sir.

Gorgeous tribute, and a perfect final quote from ST:TNG to close it out.

I didn't see him in the Scottish Play, but I did see him as Prospero when Shakespeare in the Park did The Tempest (I saw it again on Broadway). The night I saw it in CP was a full moon, and when Prospero does his final invocation at the beginning of Act 5, the moon was so, so bright above him (the stage was just a mound of sand). The Broadway transfer was very good, but couldn't match the lighting design provided by Mother Nature. He was great.

I saw the Broadway version because my friend was visiting (she was a huge ST:TNG fan) and wanted to see him on stage. We waited at the stage door after, and he was very kind about signing programs and when I shouted over the crowd, "It's my friend's birthday!" as he was signing her program, he wished her a happy birthday and she still talks about that night, all these years later. Thanks for making my friend so happy, Sir Patrick.

One less icon of basic decency as we fight the (to steal a line from Jackson Browne) "cruel and senseless hand" that's come over us.

As iconic as James T. Kirk is, *my* Enterprise captain will always be Jean Luc Picard. Rest easy, good sir.
