I’ve said this before, but I’m not averse to repeating myself, so…Mr. Robinson, you are one of the few men who, when they write about women, do so in a way I perceive as 100% empathetic/understanding, with no hint of pandering or treating women as though they are a mysterious species that nobody (least of all the women themselves!) can possibly understand.

Ongoing gratitude to you.

Fetterman has really gone downhill

Stormy Daniels showed more courage on the witness stand at Tя☭mp's trial than the average American man displays in his lifetime. She and other women just like her spend their lives facing, enduring, and overcoming odds that would be insuperable for the average man. I’m so done with having male heroes. Women are my heroes and should be in charge of everything.

I love so much that you wrote this.

"Trump is a rapist"

I misread that at first but in a way that was still true.

Going by Stormy's account, the sex wasn't by consent so much as by coercion.

Stormy Daniels was yet another of Trump's victims, her former career just means too many will refuse to acknowledge this.

I was watching a comedy special where the comic had an ex who assumed at some point the comic, who is straight, had given another man a blowjob “out of politeness”. The joke being that no one would ever do that. The absolute privilege of that statement!

I guarantee more women than not have felt that same twisting, gut-wrenching realization of finding oneself in a situation where no threats have been leveled but knowing one is in danger, nonetheless. Those long seconds where the decision to make a scene, inviting violence, or to figure out the fastest way to get out of there with one’s life intact. So many predators bank on women especially being socialized to be polite and not make a scene. So many predators bank on holding enough control over the situation that a good number of women would do what Stormy did - decide it was just safer to submit and pray it’s over quickly. That decision is just as brave as any other.

Stormy Daniels is a patriot, a fighter, a survivor, and should be treated with respect by everyone. She’s a hero.

Thanks especially for the second paragraph. Almost every woman knows it's true, and many hetero men still don't – whether they're ignorant, incurious, uncomfortable, or god help us, proud of it.

Thanks for this, it's very well done. The respect Rachel Maddow showed to the admirable, very human, Stormy Daniels in their interview was one of the high points in an awful week.

WELL SAID, SIR.

Denigrating Stormy Daniels to undermine Trump also obscures and trivializes Trump’s multitude of other crimes and questionable transactions. Especially those not seeing the light of day like the nuclear document(s) he’s been illegally hoarding; the $10 million from the Egyptian bank that reportedly routed through Shanghai in 2016; his plane parked next to one from Russia and one from the United Arab Emirates, away from all the other planes at the DC airport last week. Not to mention that he never should have been allowed anywhere near the White House—let alone the presidency—for a litany of criminal activity even before the hush money. All because our press and our national security agencies failed to properly vet Trump and hold him accountable.

They somehow think Trump's voters are made up of highly principled religious prudes, who will suddenly learn that Trump had extramarital sex with a woman who did porn, and say "well I never!" It shows a level of tone deafness that makes me far less confident in Democrats' chances this fall.

With so much more potent to attack Trump with, they go with this.

May we also add Monica Lewinsky to the pile of abused women who threatened big men in power? Yet they still endure. It’s endemic to how women are viewed every day.

Far too long we have been considered the weaker sex, too emotional yet it’s men in power who will trample them if they stand up and fight because of, sadly, their little “egos”.

It’s maddening when our team adopts the fascists’ tropes and uses them against our allies. If the fascists grab a leftish trope, they turn it into a bludgeon against us, ideally by punching down. Daniels deserves our thanks for showing us what a detestable being Trump is, at the risk of life and limb, at that.

I follow Stormy Daniels on Xhitter, and a few days ago there was a grassroots appeal/fundraiser to help her cover $120,000 in attorneys’ fees, determined by a court in 2018 that SHE owed Drumpf. Looks like she received enough to cover the whole thing, and then some. Hell yes I sent her $$ because she’s a goddam national hero who’s directly responsible for the reason we can now call him a “convicted felon.”

Totally agree.

Adding that if Trump comes to power, she, and his other victims, will likely be executed by the increasingly insane and revenge driven Trump

“When Trump’s critics reduce Daniels to an unnamed “porn star,” they suggest this was a straightforward transactional encounter with a sex worker. It wasn’t” … “Trump cheated on his third wife who was at home with their newborn son, but instead Biden and Fetterman focus on Daniels’ profession, as if that’s where our moral outrage should rest.”

THANK YOU STEPHEN. “Banging a porn star” catches the eye and ear much more efficiently than “committing adultery with a woman half his age.” The phrase is vivid and fun and elevates Donald’s status in the minds of drooling cretins whose life goals include banging porn stars rather than just watching porn films.
