James Woods is the arrogant asshole here. Happy to call him a waaaahmbulance since he seems to have forgotten his neighbors are in the same boat but not being dicks about the LAFD.

This is what is making me most distressed: an unwillingness to let a natural disaster allow people to unify, which is the normal human response to disaster, is a symptom of how desperate the Republican Party is. It’s a sign that people have to be fooled to support their policies. It’s a symptom of a country that is working for too few of us partially because of that misinformation.

What a piece of crap that man is.

The best part is it's a winning strategy. He does better when Americans are divided. He can solidify his base by getting them to attack small, powerless minorities.

And Americans cosign this. It's sick.

Of course trump and others of his ilk blame Dem politicians, DEI, and anything or anyone else for anything that goes wrong, as long as they don't have to take the blame. They never are in the wrong, they are never to blame for the bad things. It would be nice if the MSM didn't spread their hate and lies, but they do.

Meanwhile, President Biden and others are eulogizing President Carter. The tears are flowing.

Linda, I watched the whole funeral with tears streaming down my face. It felt like the death of decency.

This response from the President-elect makes me seriously wonder why continue to be a part of a country that fucking hates us and lets us know how much they hate us at every opportunity when we haven't done a damned thing to merit that hatred?

We have to stay fighting. I'm an American. My ancestors built this shit for free. And I know America hates us. The election in 2024 showed us. But I will try to survive and get my joy in spite of the hatered of America.

My ancestors bled and died so that I could have a chance for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, even when it was not always extended to them. I have nowhere to go, because anywhere else, I still will get the racism but I'll get it without a support system. I'm not a person of means after all, like these well-heeled celebrities that are all about "Oh posh, Klan Robe won, I'm going to go run away to Europe or wherever."

These forces of bigotry are found everywhere, and I always want to impress that on some people. The same shit we're dealing with here, other countries will if they demonize just the right minorities.

Yeah. These assholes just make me so very tired. Thanks for lending me a hand. I'll make it. Even if it's just to fucking spite them. :)

Because it’s our country, too. It doesn’t belong to “them.” There are still some things worth fighting for, and if this isn’t it, I don’t know what is.

Wow, just watch Murc's Law work.

Can you imagine the hew and cry if a prominent Democrat...if Joe Biden had laughed at North Carolina for being devastated by flash flooding from Hurricane Helene? Hell, post the Republican-sanctioned Tony Hinchcliffe set where Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico garbage, Joe Biden said “The only garbage I see is the Trump supporters'" and it was a complete shitstorm. This will get to be forgotten by a new outrage.

This sadism just makes me so angry, and the fact that so many shitty Americans cosign this makes me nauseous.

And they feel so comfortable because there is the wide deference for the unreconstructed...those who have always gotten to have rights in America.

I was trying to guess how long it would take Trump to blame Gavin Newsom for these fires. I guessed wrong; he was a day early!

Far be it my place to give Newsom advice on how to respond but I would humbly suggest to the Governor that he 1) ask Trump how “raking” would have prevented these fires (Trump’s solution for the fires that destroyed Paradise, CA) and 2) ask when Trump is going to convince Canada to “open that giant faucet” that Trump claims is the solution to all of California’s problems.

i remember felon 47 calling Paradise "Pleasure" when he was there with Governor Newsome and talking about "Finland rakes the forests". "What a maroon", to quote Bugs Bunny.

We live in hell. And the “best” part is MSM (owned by Republicans of course) won't ask such follow-ups, or back up Newsome. At best we get a covering of “both sides” tissue paper.
