So maddening!!!! It’s only about “how” the info is being “said” vs what is the message about what democrats need to do to prevent the GOP takeover. So we LOSE our democracy because people disagree with “HOW” what’s happening is being said. So if folks disagree with how the message is being presented it’s wrong so no action will happen to save our democracy occurs. Just talk talk talk; he should have said it this way, or that way, or a different way. Talk……what action happened? Democracy is dying. Only arguing over how our representatives “should” have said our position. Wow….. sad.
For a good reason, I agree. But it seems that no one is taking any action other than this but mostly to check ✅ out. Unfortunately it has included me. I’ll check other avenues to help our democracy.
I think Trumps plan is to round up all the billionaires he could then take their money and throw them in Gitmo !’Yhey will be happy and never think about money again !
Great points. This really goes to what the Dems' self-imposed disadvantage boils down to:
1) They don't talk with blunt, incendiary language. You'll never hear Schumer for example say "Republicans are scammers, they want to steal your Social Security to fund rich weirdo friends of theirs!" Yet this is how people actually talk when they're being honest, so when instead Schumer uses measured language ("we must protect social security SNORE") it sounds strangely dishonest. After all, if scammers are trying to raid your entitlements, wouldn't you react more viscerally than that?
2) Above all things, voters want strength. When you're in power, you have to use it, and even more importantly, be SEEN to be using it. Sign your name on those relief checks! Crow loudly and bluntly about some great thing you did, in terms the average American understands and how the opposition MUST BE ON THE SIDE OF MAKING YOUR LIFE WORSE BECAUSE THEY OPPOSED IT. When you're out of power, scream bloody murder about how the party in power is making your life worse. Show strength in your power and opposition.
Granted, I've been avoiding the news as much as I can since the election. But I still see an extremly troubling pattern of surrender and not much resistance, starting with Joe Fucking Biden "welcoming back" the Orange Rapist into the White House. What the fuck, Joe?

Politics is ultimately about communication

You mean 'acting like Democrats from the Democratic wing of the party'??? Gasp!!! /s
I am wondering if it’s their prioritization to seem reasonable or if they’re just scared of Trump’s retribution.
Maybe a bit of both?

“You should just use the power you have when you have it. You should scream like bloody murder when you don't have power.”
This Mitch McConnell quote from 2017 has stuck with me.
“Winners make policy, losers go home.”
