Just catching up. While your column resonates, the number of MAGA Republicans is not small. It's approximately 70 percent of the party. The percentage of people who voted out Liz Cheney. The same percentage who still believes 2020 was stolen. The same percentage who support the Iran war. These are the diehards and have numbers enough to control the Republican Party. We'll see about Massie. I believe he has the support of many of MAGA who, like MTG, made the release of the Epstein files (to show the Democratic child porn ring) a priority.

I've got zero sympathy for Republicans who feel worried about cultist retribution. Welcome to the world you fuckers created.

>> ... Trump is not someone who deserves or even rewards loyalty, as Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi can tell you from underneath the nearest bus.

I wonder if some of this is driven by right wingers increasingly seeing Democrats as less of a threat—Biden’s gone, Obama left the WH 10 years ago, and the Democrats seem less formidable than they have in a while. Trump’s old appeal was that he could fight the better than anyone and Republicans lined up for him for that reason. Now, he’s had more time than ever to implement his agenda and there just doesn’t seem to be much energy left together behind him.

Do not confuse a bully with a mob boss. Mafia Don’s are smart. Dumbass Don not so much. MAGA is loud and violent and also dumber than a box of rocks but they seem to be waking up from this fever dream. Sadly not soon enough though.

Too afraid to do the right thing? Then resign.

America's Pilonidal Cyst doesn't fully control the cult, yes...but we've also seen prominent figures in the unreconstructed party send themselves into oblivion in opposing him or even get the *slightest* bit of accountability for him.

This movement is but a racist, ethnonationalist death cult. I'm amazed at the number of people willing to throw their lives away for him. At least I used to be until I remembered that he's had such great success as he is the one demagogue who lacks the guardrails that would stop him from using sadopopulism.

Sadopopulism is the nuclear weapon of politics, because it always ends badly as we see. It ends badly for the targets of the sadopopulism (normally vulnerable minorities), but it also destroys the country from within. Because bigotry and all the attendant -isms destroy human capital. The society will stagnate and die as it suppresses innovation and perspective from minorities it hates. It is leaving wealth and success on the table in the service of phrenology.

APC will shuffle off this mortal coil one day, as we all are. But when he goes, the power struggle is going to be the ugliest we've ever seen on American soil.

"Lisa Murkowsi admitted last year that “we are all afraid … I’m oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice because retaliation is real.”

And yet....need I say more?

The racist MAGA mob angrily, then joyfully coalesced around the racist Donald Trump. He gave them a gleefully commodified initialized "identity" - MAGA - and their dangerous, deep-seated bigotries a "socialized" legitimacy. They were LIONIZED by an initially bemused, then "sympathetic" legacy media machine, for their fears and pathetic, small-minded weaknesses as they pledged passionate "loyalty" to a TV shill whose only "product" was himself. Now the hate-fueled joy has sufficiently leaked from their raging old, decrepit gasbag - their King Liar is now beset by madness and has already turned on his "daughters", Kristi, Pam and Lori. Trump, indeed, encouraged, then demanded his MAGA to be anti-democratic monsters by leading with the example of his personal monstrousness and, if he ever felt their mob-brain interest waning, the more deranged he grew and more monstrous he became. Donald's spiralling monstrousness has damaged and will destroy him - but the darkness he evoked in the MAGA mob's souls retains its primacy, and that may destroy us all. It was there before Trump fed and watered it into spectacular, hideous bloom and will persist in lethal, poisonous forms after he's gone. I agree with SER: The MAGA "mob" won't abandon Donald, so much as he will chase after a slowly diminishing number of sycophants and superfans who will keep slowly but determinedly peeling away at the mob's edges as they personally suffer the consequences of indulging their own worst selves.

I've always felt that MAGA is just the successor of the Tea Party. Same group, different name. They've always existed under different banners and MAGA is just the latest one.

Then fuck you. If you can't stand up for your country and for what's right because you're a coward then you don't deserve your seat. Ask Ilhan Omar her opinion on that. You think she doesn't get death threats day and night, at a much more vitriolic level? Or AOC? Take this whiny, cowering horseshit, shove it straight where the sun doesn't shine, and move aside for someone who isn't afraid to take the heat.

Yeah, she can 100% fuck off with that bullshit.

Amen, shoot that into my veins!

Ask Melissa Hortman, oh wait, we can't because some maga asshole murdered her and her husband and dog.
