"McCarthy will have to live with the reality that he was outmaneuvered by Matt Gaetz."

"by hook or by crook, but mostly by crook"

Here's hoping Trump ends up as the prisoner.

The Democrats better have extracted more than just the Ukraine funding deal to save his worthless fundamentalist election-denying ass. Because you know the same shit will go down in the 2024 election and Mike's already started ... they better have some insurance.

Sad that politics has devolved into a protection racket, but in some ways, I guess it always was.

“But it’s not been something that’s easily provable. We don’t have that number.” This is the WORST thing and this also is part of what angers me about people who claim Democrats don't have message. We have plenty of message but THEY have a media human centipede that carries whatever lies or forced memes they want through the airwaves, and the 'mainstream media' are part of that same human centipede. So a large number of Americans believe this crap.

Joe Biden's actually photographed at ribbon-cuttings for projects actually established in his administration, yet so many people believe President Klan Robe did something with infrastructure. That is the power of a media human centipede.

I wonder if Three Names can even *spell* policy.

Folks let's make sure we get Speaker Covenant Eyes into the minority so we can go "Grand Opening! Grand Closing!" on his ideally short and unremarkable Speakership. Up and down the ballot, defeat as many Republicans as you can!

Johnson needs to remember this decent act of kindness. He tries to do the bidding of Large Marge he’ll be out. I hope he realizes that.

Barney Rubble in drag files a motion to vacate every morning at 7:00 am. Which is apt, because Johnson should be flushed at some point. If just on the basis of his tweets alone, not to mention his horrible ‘policy’ proposals. It would be a public service for him to leave office to ‘spend more time with his family’ (which means he and his underage son monitoring each other’s online peen activities with Covenant software).

Disheartening that we may end up with Trump part 2 based solely on lies.

It’s also darkly funny that the most venal, unforgivable sin for Republicans is working with Democrats. Democrats are, in the aggregate, decent, competent public servants who, (foolishly, perhaps?) believe in a functional government with the capacity to help people. By consistently following through on this radical notion, this unpardonable faux pas they … make Republicans look bad I guess? I dunno. The Republican base will happily follow their party right off the cliff so I don’t even know what they’re worried about. As for Johnson and McCarthy and who makes which look like a dithering idiot who couldn’t organize a two car funeral? Boys, boys, don’t fight, you’re both horrible.

Murc's Law is a hell of a drug! But also too I love how it's really OK for Republicans to really deny the citizenship and even personhood of Democrats. Imagine the column inches if Democratic politicians acted reciprocally.

I had to look that up, but man is it ever!! It’s funny how Democrats are both weak-willed and ineffectual while at the same time megalomaniacal evil masterminds. Republicans keep devaluing themselves with this pointless vendetta against the other side. But why stop an enemy while they’re losing?
